The New Wedding?
If I have to hear “In these uncertain times” again, I just might go crazy!
And I’m sure many of you are feeling the same way. But times are changing, and not just because of what’s going on in this world. Going away are the stuffy sit-down banquet weddings with food that’s just okay, and nothing to do except to dance. Either you need to find a babysitter for a late night event, or bring them along and hope they don’t “lose their charm” before the cake gets cut. As a kid, I can tell you, these weddings were never fun. Even at this age, I’m not a big dancer, so the food is always the part I’m looking forward to.
But now that things are different, whether we like them or not, it’s time for us to take back the formality and focus on FUN! After all, isn’t that what a wedding is all about? No one will remember their chicken or beef dish, but they will remember the cornhole games and kids in the playground.
Saturday nights? Forget it! Thursday and Friday evenings are becoming more popular, as well as Saturday and Sunday receptions that are over by 7, so the new couple can plan another event for the evening.
That’s where we come in. Oak Tree Lodge was MADE for a great outdoor (socially distant) wedding. There are SO many activities so everyone can find something to do while still socializing. Our venue is rustic, and a blank slate, so your Pinterest board can become a reality. We are great for DIY couples or coordinators. And our spread has something for everyone.
It’s time to break free from tradition. You and your future spouse aren’t just like everyone else, so why make your wedding or reception the cookie cutter event?
